DP William Ruto was expected to name his running mate yesterday 15/5/2022.This was communicated by Dennis Itumbi. All media houses gathered at his Karen residence to get the juicy news.

Initially, the announcement was scheduled to take place at 10 am and Ruto never thought there could be any misunderstanding. He called a meeting and announced that Anne Waiguru,Alice Wahome,Kithure Kindiki,Rigathi Gachagua and Ndindi Nyoro were the most suitable candidate.Senior members of the coalition and loyal politicians were asked to vote for the best two.The list was narrowed down to two,Kithure Kindiki and Rigathi Gachagua.

Majority of MPs from Mount Kenya hail from western Mount Kenya, they preferred Rigathi Gachagua. But Ruto was of the opinion that Rigathi has many cases in court,so he won’t be the best option,he opted for Kithure Kindiki.More than half of the Mount Kenya politicians in the room protested the move, others even walked out of the house and threatened to decamp to Azimio is Kindiki is nominated.

Moses Kuria leaked information to the members of the public. Immediately Mount Kenya West voters heard that Rigathi is not the option, they started protesting.Ruto feared that if he named Kindiki by 3 PM,the protests could be uncontrollable and he might easily lose Mount Kenya votes to Azimio.

Ruto held over 5 meetings yesterday to solve the stalemate but by 4pm,they had not reached any agreement. At 4.30pm Rigathi Gachagua and Kindiki left Karen to their respective homes.

Until today, the running mate position has not been identified.Ruto is expected to hold several meetings today ,but as things stand,Gachagua may not remain in Kenya Kwanza. The former DC says he has spent a lot of billions to popularize Ruto in mount Kenya.
