Azimio running mate Martha Karua has been teargassed in Kisii.Karua,who was about to address a mammoth crowd was forced to run for her dear life after teargas was thrown to the podium.
Before the teargas moment, two rival groups, one for Simba Arati and another one for James Ongwae were fighting. They invaded the stadium and completely took over the area.A police officer realized that the situation was getting out of hand and threw a teargas to where Martha Karua was seated.
Police who were manning the area evacuated Karua and Ida Odinga.Sources say that the police officer who threw the teargas was malicious, “why did he throw it directly to Martha Karua and not to the crowd?!!!!
Karua is currently in a chopper to Nairobi, she was not injured.
Kisii is Raila Odinga’s stronghold, it’s where he will get over 70% of the total votes to be cast in August 2022.
