Why DP Ruto is too sure of winning 2022 election

DP William Ruto appears to be too sure of winning the 2022 elections, too sure that many Kenyans have started questioning his confidence. I have also noticed that.

One of the reasons he is sure is that he has David Chirchir, the man who helped President Kenyatta to win 2013 elections.Chirchir is a former government employee and an IT Guru who Ruto employed to help him win.

Another reason is that he has the support of two main regions, Rift Valley and Mount Kenya which have a total of 10 million votes. He is sure that he’s not lost Mount Kenya votes and if he gets the number of votes Uhuru got from the region in 2013, he will be the president.

Ruto is also being supported by two of the 4 former NASA principals, Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi, who represent Western Kenya. He believes that by adding Western Kenya into his vote basket,he will easily clinch power. The DP is expected to do well against Raila in Bungoma,Trans Nzoia and Vihiga counties.Azimio is left with Busia and Kakamega.

Amason Kingi and Alfred Mutua are two other politicians Ruto has won over Raila,he believes they will attract ‘some’ votes from Ukambani and Mombasa.Uhuru performed poorly in these two regions because he didn’t have political good will from its politicians.

Another reason he is too confident is that more than half of IEBC returning officers are from the Kalenjin community. This means that he has an upper hand over Raila, if at all rigging could be done.

Finally, since Raila has the history of losing elections,Ruto believes that the same fate will befall the former Prime Minister.

Though he is confident, statistics show that Raila is ahead or Ruto by more than 1 million votes. Latest opinion polls indicates that Raila will get 8.2 million votes and Ruto 7.4 million votes.
