Bachelor of Law is one of the most marketable courses in Kenya. There are universities approved to offer the course. Below is the list of those universities and admission requirements:

Minimum Admission Requirements
The minimum admission requirements for the Bachelor of Laws programme are:
- A mean grade of C+ (Plus) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education or its equivalent with at least B (Plain) in English or Kiswahili;
- At least three Principal Passes in the Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education Examination;
- A degree from a recognized University; or
- A Credit Pass in a diploma in law examination from an accredited institution, a C (Plain) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education and a C+ (Plus) in English

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Admission Requirements
The following shall be eligible for admission:
- Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent recognized by Senate and the Council of Legal Education with a mean grade of C+ and a B (plain) in English or Kiswahili at KCSE; or other qualifying grades equivalent to B plain as approved by Senate and the Council of Legal Education; OR
- Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (KACE) or its equivalent from an institution recognized by Senate and the Council of Legal Education with at least three principal passes of “C” and
- A subsidiary pass in the general paper; and
- A grade of “B” (plain) or credit “4” in English at O level; OR
- Diploma in Law with a credit pass from an institution recognized by Senate and accredited by the Council of Legal Education and a mean grade of C (plain) and a B (plain) in English or Kiswahili at KCSE; (the diploma should have lasted for a minimum of 2 taught years); OR
- Degree in any field from a university recognized by Senate or the Council of Legal Education; OR
- Qualification equivalent to that in (1), (2), (3) or (4) as determined by Senate or the Council of Legal Education.
Credit Transfer and Exemptions
The following rules shall apply to credit transfer and exemption:
- The University of Nairobi policy on academic credit transfer and exemption shall apply.
- Any candidate who has a relevant qualification not covered by these regulations may with the approval of the Senate be exempted up to a maximum of one-third of the courses offered in the programme.
- The following categories of applicants may seek exemptions:
- A candidate who has followed the prescribed course of instruction in the relevant course unit and passed the applicable examination at the University of Nairobi;
- A candidate who has followed a course of instruction in a course unit that subsumes the current content of the relevant course unit and passed the applicable examination in the course units at the University of Nairobi;
- A candidate who has followed the prescribed course of instruction in the relevant course unit and passed the applicable examination at any other University recognized by Senate;
- A candidate who has followed a course of instruction in a subject which subsumes the current content of the relevant course unit and passed the applicable examination in the course unit at any other University recognized by the Senate;
- A candidate who has passed a law examination administered by a recognized professional body of repute and based on a curriculum the content of which is not less exhaustive than that of the University of Nairobi with regard to the course unit;

MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible for admission into the Bachelor of Laws, an applicant must satisfy the following academic qualifications:
1) Be a holder of a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (K.C.S.E.) with a mean grade of at least C+ (Plus) or its equivalent with a minimum grade B (Plain) in English or Kiswahili.

2) Be a holder of a Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education (K.A.C.E) with at least three principal passes.
OR
3) Be a holder of a Degree from a recognized University.
OR
4) A credit passes in a Diploma in Law examination from an accredited institution.

Required entrance qualifications and grades: KCSE:
- An aggregate of B, with a B in English or Swahili. An aggregate B- might exceptionally be considered.
- PWD: C+, with a B in English or Swahili.
- Persons with grade B or higher in Swahili will be required to have scored at least a B- in English.
UK/IGCSE/GCSE:
- O level 6 Bs, with 1 B in English (not English Literature);
- A level 3 Bs.
- At A level, BBC might exceptionally be considered.
- IB Diploma with 34 points out of 45.
Ugandan Students:
- A Level – 14 points with 3 principal passes and 2 subsidiary passes
- O Level – 8 to 32 points (Division 1 or 2) with 1 or 2 in English.
International Students: equivalent entry requirements will be applied based on KNQA advice. Proof of the above-mentioned qualifications and grades should be sent in the form of scanned copies of the KCSE or KACE certificates. If a prospective student complies with the required entrance qualifications and grades, such students will be required to write an entrance exam. There is a non-refundable entrance examination fee of KES 2000 payable on the day of the exam.

Entry Qualification
Applicants for the LLB degree programme must be holders of:
- KCSE with a minimum mean grade of B- (minus) and a minimum grade of B (plain) in English or Kiswahili; or
- KCSE with a minimum grade of C+(plus) and a minimum grade of B (plain) in English or Kiswahili (subject to the applicant passing oral and written interviews) (see further explanation below in part 2(b)); or
- KACE with a minimum of three principal passes; or
