Photos of Newborn Omote, Kisii Pilot who died through Safarilink aircraft Crash


Kenyans are mourning the death of Newborn Omote,a young Kisii man who died through a tragic aircraft crash. Omote was the lead pilot of Safarilink aircraft that collided head on with another aircraft near Wilson Airport.

He hails from Nyankoba Location, Nyankoba Sub location,Rigoma Division, Rigoma Ward,Kitutu Masaba Constituency.

Safarilink had earlier confirmed the accident. Below is the message from the company:


As a further update to our notice this morning, Safarilink Aviation wishes to confirm that our Dash 8 aircraft 5Y-SLK incurred some damage to its tail, as it was climbing out of Wilson Airport after receiving Air Traffic Control clearance. The aircraft has since been withdrawn from service awaiting inspection by the regulatory authorities.

The affected passengers on the service to Diani were boarded onto another Safarilink aircraft that departed Wilson airport at 1120 a.m. and landed safely in Diani thereafter.

The Management and Board of Safarilink Aviation extend their heartfelt condolences to the crew and family of the Cessna 172 aircraft.

Safarilink Aviation is cooperating with the investigative agencies in this matter and assures its clients of its highest commitment to safety.
