This man explains why you should not buy cement in bulk when constructing a house—fundi watakutenda

A Kenyan man who has constructed several houses has advised Kenyans who are going to construct their own houses against buying cement in bulk.

Here is what he said on social media:

“Dear home owner, What lesson have you learnt in mjengo. Let’s list the lessons and help those in the journey

LESSON 1: SIMITI NI HOTCAKE🤣🤣🤣

I remember after I learnt the hard way, I made a rubber stamp that had my signature and I would secretly stamp every bag that was delivered and would tell the fundis to keep the empty bags safe for me since “I wanted to resell them” .  And whenever I would find some bags Missing (meaning they had stolen the cement) I would tell them “roho ananiambia kwamba kuna simiti zimetoka nje ya gate bila kutumika”.  Hawa waliishi wakijua mimi ni illunimati 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

USINUNUE SIMITI IN BULK ata kama iko na offer because:

1. Hiyo ndio fundi atakua anatuma akiambiwa “pep I need 2000 urgently”.

2. Iko na expiry date and hardens with time

3. Also, it tends to “grow legs”

Buy cement only when you need it and keep an eye on it.

If you want to save money during construction, buy cement when it’s needed only.
