How Can I Stop betting on Aviator—I have lost all my money

One of our readers asked how to quit betting on Aviator. This was his comment:

“Hey,I have been betting on Aviator for 2 years now. I started betting as a joke, I could spend Ksh 100 to Ksh 500 per day but with time, I started spending more money believing that I could become a millionaire. I earn Ksh 45,000 per month. I have found myself spending more than 30k every month on Aviator. The little I remain with is not even enough to pay rent. I am in the verge of being evicted from my rental house.

I wake up at 4 am every day to start betting and by the end of the day, I am Ksh 2,000 to Ksh 5,000 less. I feel that I am in a point where I am unable to progress financially in life. How can I stop betting on Aviator?”

Look for another hobby

Aviator is not a game you can decide to stop today and leave it completely—you have to take time. To do so, look for an alternative hobby which doesn’t involve betting. Spend more time on the hobby.

Stay away from your laptop or betting Apps

Another action to take is to stay away from your laptop and betting Apps. Delete all betting Apps. Whenever the urge to bet crops up, rise and go outside.

Be principled

Set aside a budget for betting and when the money is over, don’t go for another cash.If you had planned to spend Ksh 300 that day, don’t increase the limit even if you see the opportunity to win.

To manage this, avoid having a lot of money in your Mpesa. If you are planning to spend Ksh 300, have only Ksh 300 in your phone.

Always bet in moderation.

Change your friends

Friends play a major role in influencing your decisions. Drop friends who do betting and get new ones who don’t fancy betting.

The new friends will help you drift away from betting.

Save before you spend your money

Look for a way to save money before you invest. Save in Money Market Fund,Fixed Deposit Account or Sacco. Ensure that the money is automatically debited from your account before spending the balance. If your income is Ksh 40,000, save Ksh 10,000-Ksh 20,000 and remain with Ksh 20,000 to Ksh 30,000 to pay bills.

Doing this way, you will remain with little amount of money to spend on betting.
