Who is Elisha Ongoya?

Elisha Ongoya, popularly known as Elisha Zebedee Ongoya is a senior lecturer at Kabarak University, apart from being a partner at Ongoya and Wambola Advocates and a seasoned author of law related books/materials.

Elisha prefers being called by his students and colleagues as “Mzee Zebedee Ongoya” because according to his culture, everyone having a home is considered a Mzee. He hails from Mukoko village in the heart of Kakamega county where he has a beautiful home.

Elisha went to St. Paul’s Ikalikha Primary School before proceeding to Musingu High School and later the University of Nairobi where he studied law. Despite him and most of his family members having Luo names, they identify as Luhyas.

He speaks five languages; English, Kiswahili, French, Luhya and Dholuo.
