What Raila heckling and Booing in Kisii means

Raila Odinga won’t believe what he saw in Kisii, he was booed and almost chased out of Gusii Stadium. The ODM leader was joining fans in launching Shabana FC jersey. As he arrived, fans noticed him and started chanting, ”Ruto must Go”. When he insisted to enter the stadium, they started leaving the venue. The Enigma was left with a handful of people to address.

The event went on well but Raila was booed all through. He later made the shortest speech of his life and left the stadium dejected.

The Kisiis are angry with Raila for not supporting Matiangi who is contesting for 2027 president. They blame him for Nyachae’s 2002 loss where he refused to endorse him but instead endorsed Kibaki the last minute. They also don’t agree with him joining hands with President Ruto.

The booing in Kisii means that Raila has lost over 1,000,000 votes from Kisiis. This is a big blow to him considering that Kisii is one of his strongholds. Already, there are indications that Luhya are warming up to join Gachagua’s team. Kalonzo has already separated with Raila. It means Raila is only left with Luo Nyanza and some parts of Coast. If he is not careful, he will deliver less than 2 million votes to Ruto.

People love Raila but they don’t want his association with Ruto. If he continues with the association, he will lose most of the votes he got in 2022.
