Blogger Gordon Opiyo has narrated how he felt when he temporarily died. Here is the blogger’s experience:
On 13th August, I collapsed and was rushed to hospital – where I was told that I was placed on Life Support Machine for two days.
The only memory I had was my daughter,Terry, driving me to the pharmacy where I took some malaria drugs. I wanted to check my sugar level, but the machine at the pharmacy wasn’t working, so I said “Wacha nirudi kesho” That kesho never came as expected because a few hours later, everything in me collapsed.
All I remember was being surrounded by several beings that looked like horses and were singing in a coordinated way. I could see people around me, but couldn’t talk. All I could hear was the songs and melodies of the beings that were moving in circular motion.
Then we reached a huge gate, that appeared locked..it was blueish and had white horses..
Upon reaching the locked door, the beings disappeared and I came back to my senses… waking up to several pipes all over my body, and my mouth and nose connected to the oxygen machine at Nairobi West Hospital.
I spent the next couple of weeks at the Hospital moving between HDU, ICU and regular Wards.
To say the the truth, the indian doctors at Nairobi West Hospital are very amazing.. the teamwork and group consultation made everything transparent. The HDU nurses at Nairobi West Hospital are simply real life savers.. working with full dedication.
I must admit that Nairobi West Hospital stands out in terms of delivery.
I’m out of danger, and recovering. I had to rely on physiotherapists to learn how to walk again, and my hands are still weak. But I thank God for the gift of life.
Things we take for granted, like walking, talking and typing…can suddenly stop and you find yourself in another condition.
I have been advised by the Doctors to keep off rigorous activity and take time to fully recover. As I work on my hands to come back to full operation, I still marvel at the experience of those beings moving in circular motion and the huge blueish gate that had white horses…and was shut…
