A Kenyan woman, Edna Mmbali Ombakho, who had been reported missing in Wraysbury, United Kingdom, has sadly been found dead.

Edna, 31, an MSc student at York St John University in London, had been missing since February 1, 2026, prompting an appeal from UK police and deep concern from family, friends, and the Kenyan community in the UK.

On the afternoon of Sunday, March 8, authorities have confirmed that her body was discovered in a river, bringing a heartbreaking end to weeks of searching and prayers for her safe return.

Members of the River of Christian Fellowship, who had planned to hold a virtual prayer meeting this evening to pray for her safe return, were devastated by the tragic development. The meeting was instead turned into a moment of prayer, heartfelt condolences, and tributes in honour of Edna’s life.

As TKDM, we extend our deepest sympathies to Dr. George Ombakho and the entire Ombakho family, as well as to the Kenyan community in Thames Valley, during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they mourn this painful loss.
