Modern Pacific Furniture owner Gibson Murage has said that it’s hard to trust Kenyan workers. He says that you employ someone, instead of working to keep the company running, they start stealing from the employer, stocking their products in your shop and sabotaging your business. Murage further says that most employees don’t commit to their work—they only work under supervision.
The entrepreneur confirmed that many companies have jobs but they fear employing Kenyans because of the experience they have had with other employees. Gibson says that it’s not easy to get loyal employees.
Majority of Kenyan employers are going for Rwandese, Congolese, Ugandans and Burundians. Most Kinyozis in Nairobi have employed Burundians,who are hardworking and loyal.
