An elderly man in eastern India has sparked widespread reactions after allegedly exhuming his late sister’s skeleton and taking it to a bank as proof of her death to access money in her account.
The incident reportedly happened in Odisha, where Jitu Munda sought to withdraw about Rs 20,000 belonging to his late sister, Kalara Munda, who passed away in January.
According to reports, after repeated visits and frustration over documentation demands, the man dug up his sister’s remains and brought the skeleton to the bank to prove she was truly dead.
