Oburu Odinga is out of the country for treatment. He was flown to Dubai where he is in a serious health status. Oburu has been in Dubai, for 3 weeks.Today,news spread that he is dead but not confirmed. However,we can establish that he is sick and weak.
Oburu Ng’ong’a Oginga, born 15 October 1943, is a Kenyan politician and economist. He’s the eldest son of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga and brother to Raila Odinga.
He studied in Russia, earning a PhD in Economics by 1970. Politically, he was Bondo MP from 1994-2013, Assistant Minister for Finance 2008-2013, served in EALA 2017-2022, and is currently Siaya County Senator elected in 2022.
After Raila’s death in 2025, Oburu became ODM party leader and head of the Odinga political dynasty. He published In the Shadow of My Father in 2021 and chairs the Senate Energy Committee.
