Peter Mugure has been sentenced to life imprisonment after killing his wife and 2 children. Mugure killed his wife and children in 2019.
On the fateful day,he had lured his wife Joyce Syombua and 2 children to Laikipia Airbase where he killed them. He strangled the children and hit his wife with a blunt object. He then dug a shallow grave in Nanyuki where he buried them.
Mugure was later arrested. The case was ongoing until today,14/7/2026 when he was sentenced to life imprisonment.
While delivering the ruling,Judge Justin Martin Muya said that Mugure didn’t show any remorse for what he did.
The reason Mugure killed his family was because the wife had separated with him.She went to court to demand for child support. Peter didn’t like the verdict where his employer,KDF ,was instructed to deduct part of his salary for child support. He was earning Ksh 250,000 by then. He opted to take the step of eliminating his family. Peter will spend the rest of his life in prison.
