Sir Wicknell Chivayo’s ex-wife was Sonja Louise Madzikanda. The couple married in 2017 after Chivayo reportedly paid US$50,000 (KES 6.5M) in lobola (dowry). They divorced in 2024 after their marriage reportedly broke down over family disagreements. They had two children together.
In early 2026, Madzikanda sought US$25 million( KES 3.25B) and US$40,000 (KES 5.2M) in monthly maintenance. In April 2026, a court settlement awarded her US$5 million ( KES 650M) for child maintenance. Their divorce was followed by disputes over child access and brief criminal allegations, which Chivayo later dropped.
Chivayo died in a helicopter crash on September 30, 2026, alongside his second wife, Lucy Muteke.
