Nairobi County Assembly after Deputy Clerk Monica M. Muthami has been told to return a student to school. Muthami has been formally accused of interfering with the education and welfare of a 22-year-old university student, Ian Mutinda Mumo.
Through a demand letter issued by Mwendwa Mwinzi Associates Advocates on behalf of the student’s father, Harrison Mumo Simon, the 57-year-old official is accused of keeping the young man at her Donholm Estate residence and engaging in an inappropriate romantic relationship.
According to the legal documents, Ian was admitted to Kabarak University in September 2025 to pursue a Bachelor of Commerce degree, but his education has allegedly been derailed following his involvement with the county official.
The student is not bothered to return to school. He says that Monica buys anything he wants and also gives him money. He has vowed to marry him. He tells his father to look for important things to do instead of following him everywhere.
