Mohammed Ali is the man behind Jicho Pevu, the popular program on KTN NEWS. The investigative journalist has so much in secret that the public don not know.Here are facts about the man.

Mohammed Ali was born in Isiolo, attended Thika Muslim Primary School and later moved to Nakuru.The KTN journalist scored a C+ which enabled him join News Link Institute of Journalism for a Diploma in Journalism and later Moi University for a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication and Public Relations.

After graduating from Moi University, he was recruited by Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) as an intern. He quit after 6 months after life became tough.

The investigative Journalist immediately landed a job at Pwani FM where he worked for almost a year before being poached by Radio Salaam, Pwani based Radio Station.

Luck knocked his door in 2007 when he received a call from KTN requiring him to visit their offices at I&M building. Mohammed would later be offered a temporary job as a journalist. His star started shining when he was assigned to Mathare where he was tasked with ensuring he unearth what the station termed “police brutality against members of outlawed Mungiki”. Mohammed did a perfect job, which elevated him to the prime position of Investigative Journalist.

His lowest moment came in 2012 when he was accused of stealing a smartphone.  The phone, a Nokia 8800 was valued at Sh 100,000. He was freed on sh 50,000 cash bail.

The journalist has done more than 20 episodes, most of them exposing top politicians, drug lords, corrupt cartels and police brutality. He has won several awards.

Despite being successful in his career, the journalist has had a fair share of threats. Each episode comes with threats, which makes him one of the most hated investigative journalist in Kenya.

One of the shocking things about Ali is that in a week he only sleeps in his house at most once-most of the time he is out of the country, unless he is covering a story within the country.

Mohammed is a Muslim and a family man-he is married to Rukiya Abdallah.

Ali is among the highest paid journalist in the country,with a monthly salary of over Ksh 500,000.
