There are many questions than answers on whether Tom Wolf of Synovate is campaigning for Jubilee following his repeated question “should Raila Odinga retire from politics”.
Wolf, who is a social scientist, conducts opinion polls almost every month and in each opinion poll there must be a question on whether Raila should stop contesting for president in 2017 or he should retire completely from politics.
If the question was asked only ones then the pollster would have been excused, but why ask the same question repeatedly on the same individual when there are over 10 individuals expressing their interest in the same seat?
In research, an independent researcher stops being independent when he is subjective.In my opinion, Tom Wolf expects a “YES” in the question so that it can be used to manipulate voters and make them believe Raila is not popular. That will make Raila’s subjects more demoralized and give president Uhuru, Raila’s main rival undue advantage.
In today’s opinion poll by the pollster, the same question on Raila featured in the questionnaire but what Wolf experienced in the news room will forever linger in his mind. The researcher, was at pains to explain why he asks the same question now and then, and after failing to answer, the press briefing ended prematurely.
