Scoring a D in school is the most demoralizing period of any individual, but scoring an A is like having a ticket to heaven. Research, however, shows that D students are more likely to succeed than A students, regardless of the opinion the society holds against them.

In Kenya, there are several top entrepreneurs who have employed thousands of A students. Some of them include Johnson Muthama whose inability to grasp things in primary forced him to drop out of school, the late Njenga Karume who was ranked among the richest in Kenya and Mike Sonko, whose degree in college should not cheat you that he was an A student-the list is long.

The thinking among A students in Kenya is to excel in school, get nice jobs and earn huge salaries. These individuals would burn mid night oil “chewing knowledge” and competing amongst themselves. After completing one step-perhaps undergraduate-he will be employed and his salary fixed at Ksh 50,000.Two years down the line, the A student will realize that the salary is not enough;he will enroll for a masters program. After masters,he will again ask for a promotion. The employer, who is a D student, will add him Ksh30,000 and make him (A student) excited.

By the time the A student clocks age 40,his salary will be Ksh 150,000 per month, the amount a D student makes in hours.

In short, the A student believes in the power of a book and knowledge. He believes his success is based on the number of degrees his suit case can carry.

Now this is the story of a D student. This person will score a D,something that will make his relatives, friends, the community and society at large laugh at him.You know scoring a D alone is a life experience.

After the experience, he will go out to make himself something because colleges don’t admit failures. In the process of feeding himself, the man will come face to face with life challenges, which will broaden his mind. This is the moment he will get in touch with the needs of the society.Since the A student is busy in school chewing books, the D student will start a small business venture. This business will solve the problems of the society.

By the time the A student completes his studies, the D student has managed to build and empire.

What is common about average individuals is that they like taking risks, which is not the case for A students.

Time is of essence, where you spend your time matters a lot: if you spend more time in school, there are chances you will lose touch with the society, and you won’t know what the society needs, but if you spend much time with the society, you will come up with a concrete solution to their problems through business.

The A student and D student are two worlds apart, but literary, the D student is in heaven and the A student is in hell, in regards to success and business.
