chebetShocking details from Citizen TV and Royal Media Services indicates that Kirigo Ng’arua and Terryanne Chebet have been sacked.

The two were given retrenchment letters by the station yesterday shortly after the media house Managing Director Wachira Waruru announced that over 100 employees will be sent packing.

A memo which was circulated to all RMS employees reads in parts:

” In the past two years we have witnessed various developments within the broadcasting industry that have adversely affected our business environment.

As a result, the company is left with no choice but to re-organise its operations. That includes rationalization of the various departments.

Unfortunately and regrettably, the action will result in the reduction of our work force through job redundancies.”

Kiringo joined the station over 5 years ago and has been reading lunch time news, while Terryanne Chebet has been focusing on business news.

More shocking news will follow once every target receives sacking letters. We wish them all the best.
