The vacancy was advertised in one of the popular Kenyan blogs. Jobseekers applied, in thousands, and were told to pay some money for processing some documents, including health certificate.
One of the applicants, who was also conned raised the alarm, and she wrote to the blog:
“Dear management,
Kindly do a background check on job offers. I recently applied to a job posted on your platform and after investigation I realized it was a scam that is by Goring Hotel. There is a person as David Morgan who is posing as an administrator at hotel. Everything about it is a scam. Kindly screen jobs to avoid people being lied to”
We wish to remind jobseekers that genuine job vacancies and employers don’t request for money for you to get a job, they simply employ you based on your qualifications. At any stage, if an employer asks for money, don’t pay.
