International Students

Admitted full-time freshman and transfer students on Visa with foreign transcripts are automatically considered for the following renewable scholarships. A separate application is not required.

Fall 2017 – Spring 2018 International Merit Scholarships

Scholarship Amount GPA Requirement
Trustee Scholarship $12,000 per year Minimum 3.50
Presidential Scholarship $10,000 per year 3.00 – 3.49
Deans Scholarship $8,000 per year 2.50 – 2.99

The above scholarships are awarded to international students admitted for the Fall 2017 – Spring 2018 academic year. Annual scholarship amounts are divided in half between the Fall and Spring semesters. Scholarships are not awarded for the Summer semester.

Scholarship Renewal Policy

Scholarships may be renewed for subsequent years of study with the University. Renewal criteria include full-time enrollment (12 – 17 units per semester) at Dominican and maintaining a minimum cumulative grade point average as listed below. Scholarships may be renewed up to a maximum of 3 additional years (8 semesters total) for international students at a freshman grade level, 2 additional years (6 semesters total) for students transferring at a sophomore grade level, and 1 additional year (4 semesters total) for students transferring at a junior grade level. Students transferring at a senior grade level are eligible to receive the scholarship for 1 year (2 semesters) total.

Minimum cumulative GPA requirements to maintain eligibility:

  • Trustee Scholarship: minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
  • Presidential Scholarship: minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA
  • Deans Scholarship: minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA

In addition to meeting the minimum cumulative GPA, to maintain Institutional aid eligibility, students must also meet Federal SAP eligibility; if the student is enrolled full-time, the student must earn at least 12 of their units attempted at the conclusion of the term, or if the student is not enrolled full-time, the student must earn at least 75% of their units attempted at the conclusion of the term.

North Bay Transfer Grant (beginning Fall 2017)

  • $1000 Grant for full-time Undergraduate Day Program International Transfer Students
  • Must have directly transferred to the University from College of Marin, Santa Rosa Junior College, or Napa Valley College
