When the Supreme Court ruled AGAINST Raila Odinga in 2013, this is what he said

1819

Raila Odinga has conceded a couple of times. In 2013 when Supreme Court upheld Uhuruโ€™s victory, this is what he said:

โ€œIt is my hope that the incoming government will have fidelity to our Constitution, and implement it to the letter for the betterment of our people.

I wish president-elect Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy president-elect William Ruto best of luck in this endeavour.

I remain confident in the Judiciary despite the Supreme Court not ruling in our favour. My concession was made in the interest of peace and so that the economy will no longer be held hostage by the electoral process.

Although we may not agree with some of its findings, and despite all the anomalies we have pointed out, our belief in constitutionalism remains supreme.

Casting doubt on the judgement of the Court could lead to higher political and economic uncertainty, and make it more difficult for our country to move forward.”

The statement marked Railaโ€™s journey to recapture the presidency in 2013,but it gave him time to build more muscles for 2017 elections.

Since the former Prime Minister accepted the court verdict, he also anticipated Uhuru to accept the 2017 verdict..but it can be noted,Uhuruโ€™s outbursts clearly demonstrated he wasnโ€™t ready to accept the ruling.
