A man by the name Dkt Titus Juma has explained how a good looking woman conned him on Facebook. This lady approached him with a seemingly genuine case but it turned out she was a con woman. Here is how the story goes:

“I may not be the same kind person anymore. This lady sent me a friend request on 24th last month-May which I accepted. Immediately, she appreciated my status updates as being interesting & uplifting via inbox. I never replied since I don’t run or keep a blog but I post just for fun to kill boredom. After a day, I read her inbox requesting for assistance to clear fee for her master’s degree program. I wasn’t shocked since it’s normal for both men & women to ask for assistance on these streets of Mark Zuckerberg. I requested for a fee statement which she scanned a copy. She had an outstanding fee balance of almost Ksh. 80,000. I tried to assume her texts for 2 days. But since she appeared genuine & desperate I promised to sent her 20k since I had pressing financial demands. Surprisingly, she declined noting that she has no other ways of raising the balance. I assumed her for 3 more days & even deactivated my account. Someone we have been friends via facebook barely a month! I was confused. She insisted even when I reactivated my account. For peace to prevail, I asked for her number & wired 400 dollars (about ksh. 40,000) via the Wave money transfer to her mobile. Five days ago, I scrolled through her timeline posts & noted a gentleman who commented frequently on her posts. I wanted to ascertain her level of need so that I can link her to a company that can employ her. When I engaged the gentleman, he revealed to me that the two were cousins. I did it maturely. The lady may not have conned me but she lied. She can also be accused of forgery. She needed money as hospital bill for her 3 year old child who was to undergo an operation. She wasn’t a master’s student but was working with an ICT firm in Nairobi. When I tried to inquire, the lady blocked me. I have forgiven her. At least she taught me a lesson”
