More than 1000 PhD and Masters graduates have applied for Census enumerator jobs. Sources say even KNBS staff are shocked with the high number of PhD holders who applied for a job that required on a form four certificate.
As of yesterday a total of 959 Masters graduates and 68 PhD holders had already submitted their application. Most of the applicants had indicated they are jobless. Interestingly, thousands of others had applied for Supervisory role.
Enumerator job is the lowest ranked position in the census exercise, it only requires someone who is capable seeing, writing and reading—no specialized training is required.
The Census exercise will start in the month of August.
