A video has emerged showing Patrick Matasi in a car trying to receive a bribe to fix a football match. In the video, he has agreed to receive the money believed to be more than Ksh2 million. In the conversation, he is told to concede first half so as to favour a certain team.
Patrick Matasi has been Harambee Stars number 1 goalkeeper for the longest time. He conceded 4 goals against Cameroon, some of them so easy and preventable. He has also conceded easy goals in teams he has been associated with. Fans often question his credibility but they have never had courage to accuse him of match fixing until the recent video.
Cyprian Nyakundi has posted the video on his Facebook page showing the conversation between Matasi and unknown person.
Some betting companies are accused of influencing the result of teams so as to make profits.
