Maureen Gathigia Kinyua was Gachagua’s social media manager and she championed for the government agenda. President William Ruto while in a Rally in Mount Elgon claimed that Gachagua killed the lady after she failed to abort his pregnancy. The president also accused Gachagua of changing his brother’s will,leaving Nderitu’s wife and children to suffer.
Maureen Gathigia Kinyua died in 2019. After the death,Ruto wrote this on his Facebook page:
“Condolences to the family and friends of Maureen Gathigia Kinyua. A keen, dedicated and thorough young girl, she used the digital space to inform her audience of Jubilee’s agenda, especially the progress of implementing projects under the Big Four. Maureen was vivacious, confident and outgoing. She played an immeasurable role in our 2017 reelection campaigns and was a voice of reason and intellect. Rest In Peace”
Gachagua and his wife Dorcas are mentioned in the case.
