President Uhuru Kenyatta has announced today that the electricity power connection will reduce from Sh 35,000 to a new tariff of Ksh 15,000.This is good news to Kenyans especially those in rural Kenya who could not afford the previous tariff.
Currently only less than 40% of Kenyan homes are connected to electricity despite the government coming up with strategies to increase connections in rural areas.One of the strategies that has not bore fruits yet is the creation of the Rural Electrification Authority which is mandated with the task of identifying and connecting power to rural areas.
