Kenyans will afford to smile again as Kenya power intends to connect every home which is close to a transformer with electricity.The ambitious plan will be effected soon and it will mostly benefit rural homes.
Speaking on Thursday Kenya Power MD Ben Chumo announced that the ambitious plan will see 70 % of homes getting connected to electricity by 2016.
In this plan those who will benefit may not necessarily pay the connection fees immediately but they will be given two years to clear the required Sh 15,000.
Currently only 30% of Kenyan homes are connected with electricity.
