US President Barack Obama has jetted into the country,becoming the first sitting US President to set foot in the Kenyan soil.The plane which was carrying him landed at JKIA at 8 pm amid cheers from the crowd which had gathered at the busy airport.

He is expected to be in the country for three days where he will meet President Uhuru Kenyatta,opposition leader Raila Odinga,Civil Society,dignitaries at UN headquarters in Gigiri and members of the public at Kasarani stadium.

While alighting ,Obama was welcomed by President Uhuru Kenyatta,her sister Auma Obama alongside other senior government officials.

JOANNE WAMAITHA is the name of this lucky girl who has made history as the 1ST KENYAN to ever shake the hand of a SITTING US PRESIDENT.She is an orphan who schools at Mama Ngina Children’s home.

Obama shook her hand vigorously and later gave her a warm hug as she accepted flowers from the innocent girl.He  later proceeded to greet other people who had gathered to receive him.

President Uhuru Kenyatta receiving Obama at JKIA,they exchanged hugs and warm greetings and few words,symbolizing good relationship which the two countries have shared for centuries.

After being welcomed,Obama entered his beast together with his sister Auma Obama,whom she had promised to return a hand after giving him a ride in her Volkswagen Beetle several years ago.
