Seven Students of St Martins Primary School from Muranga died on Wednesday evening in Diani when they were swimming deep in the ocean.
A total of 56 students travelled to Mombasa for a tour which was to last for one week and on Wednesday morning they all decided to visit the Diani beach for a swimming session but seven of them lost their lives in the process of swimming.
Four bodies were recovered at around 4.20 pm while another body was recovered at 6 pm; two more bodies are yet to be recovered.
Reports indicate that the students were warned against swimming deep into the sea but the warning fell on deaf ears.
