Orange Democratic Movement party has advised their supporters to boycott Brookside Dairly milk because the product comes from President Uhuru Kenyatta’s industry.
“We call on our people to rethink their relationship with the companies in whose name our sugar sector is being killed. Boycott the milk that is being exported to Uganda. Let Ugandans buy it,” reads a statement from CORD
The CORD coalition was reacting to the news that President Uhuru signed a deal with Museveni to allow importation of cheap sugar which they argue will flood the market and block the market for locally produced sugar.
The coalition led by Raila Odinga plans to tour Western Kenya to sensitize farmers on the deal and urge them to put pressure on Uhuru not to implement the deal.
