Segun Odegbami has expressed interest in contesting for the position of FIFA president to replace Sepp Blatter who is retiring.
FIFA has been accused of corruption during the outgoing President Sepp Blatter’s tenure,they were so serious that he was forced to resign.But Segun has promised to restore integrity and confidence to the giant institution.
Segun Odegbami is the former Nigerian Soccer captain and he was part of the Nigeria squad that won its first Africa Cup of Nations crown in 1980
Among those who have also declared their interest in the seat include Michel Platini, head of European football’s governing body UEFA, South Korea’s Chung Mong-joon, and Brazilian legend Zico
For the candidates to qualify for the February elections one must garner support from at least five of FIFA’s 209 members before October 26.
