President Uhuru Kenyatta has been sued for Kicking out Deputy Inspector General of Police Grace Kaindi from the National Police Service.
Mr Zachary Onsongo has through lawyer Jesse Oduor filed a petition seeking reinstatement of Grace Kaindi to her former position with immediate effect. The petitioner argues that the President violated the constitution by replacing her with a man.
Mr Onsongo also claims that the President does not have powers to sack anyone in the National Police Service, due process must be followed.
“By virtue of Constitutional provisions and the National Police Service Act, the deputy inspector general cannot be fired without following the due process of the law,” reads the petition
Grace Kaindi was fired on Wednesday for failing to meet the expectations of many Kenyans; she was under-performing. She was however given a soft landing by being appointed ambassador.
