Premier League champions Chelsea suffered their third loss of the season on Saturday when Everton demolished them 3-1 at Goodison Park.
Scotland forward Steven Naismith came on for Muhamed Besic and scored a hat-trick which separated the two teams. He scored in quick succession immediately he joined the rest at the pitch, exposing Chelsea defense.
Naismith scored the last goal of the match eight minutes from time thus making it 3-1 in favour of Everton.Nemanja Matic’s goal was not enough to secure a point for the champions.
Despite Mourinho’s men dominating second half, they failed to break Everton’s solid defence. However, Chelsea’s defense was highly vulnerable throughout the match with Branislav Ivanovic taking blame for poor display.
Saturday’s defeat left Chelsea in a very awkward position, which requires serious thoughts from the Manager, Jose Mourinho.
