There was drama at Ruiru stadium when prayers organized by TNA MPS for Joshua Sang and Deputy President William Ruto turned chaotic.

Drama started when Kabete Member of Parliament Ferdinand Waititu arrived at the stadium amid thunderous cheers from the crowd. This did not go well with with Kiambu Governor William Kabogo’s supporters who immediately started engaging Waititu’s supporters. The incident went on for a while before the police intervened to cool down the charged crowd.

Ferdinand Waititu aka Baba Yao is set to contest for the position of Kiambu Governor in 2017, which is giving the current Governor William Kabogo sleepless nights.

When the dust settled, speaker after speaker took to the podium to throw words at Bensouda and ICC, condemning them for unfairly targeting Deputy President William. It reached a point where URP MPs started protesting what they termed as unfair treatment at the stadium. They argued that their TNA counterparts were given more time to speak than the URP politicians. Finally; they decided to leave the stadium one by one until the podium remained almost empty.

When Uasin Gishu Governor took to the podium, he accused TNA side of not being serious in supporting William Ruto and Sang in regards to ICC cases. He protested that since President Uhuru Kenyatta’s case was terminated he has not seen any seriousness from the government on the remaining cases.

Last Sunday, URP held prayers for Joshua Sang and William Ruto at Kaptororo shrine in Kuresoi, Nakuru, but it was invaded by outsiders.Initially, only Kalenjins were invited to attend prayers but later other politicians invited themselves, something that made Deputy President William Ruto and Joshua Sang to skip the prayers.
