Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko’s father Gideon Kioko Kivanguli is set to be buried on Tuesday in Machakos County.
Mr.Kioko died last month at Nairobi hospital after six months of sickness.
The remains of Sonko’s father have been lying at Lee Funeral Home and on Monday the family chauffeured the remains from the morgue in a coffin that was encrusted with gold and diamond fakes. The casket is believed to have costed the Senator Ksh 1.5 million
The body was carried by a convoy of more than 70 vehicles and several motorbikes.
“My Dad Will be LAID TO REST tomorrow TUESDAY, 15TH, SEP at MUA HILLS (SONKO’S FAMILY FARM) between Makutano Junction & Machakos Town”, said Sonko after leaving Lee Funeral
“Ukifika Mua Road (Still on your way to Machakos) You will find a big sign showing the directions of Mua Road and Family Home.Note from the highway to the house the road is well tarmacked and the road will lead you straight to my house no worry incase of rain or vumbi.You are all welcome”,added the Senator
The flamboyant Senator is determined to give his dear father, who made him what he is, a special send off.
President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition leader are expected at the funeral among other politicians.
