Manchester United started their Champions League campaign on a wrong footing after losing 2-1 to Holland’s PSV Eindhoven.
This was United’s first match in the competition after being out of the league for one year. Losing to PSV was disappointing especially to United Manager Louis Van Gaal who spent close to €300 million in a single season strengthening the team.
United also suffered a big blow when Luke Show suffered horror injury after a dangerous tackle from Hector Moreno. The game was held up for almost 10 minutes as the England international received treatment on the pitch from a posse of medical staff before being stretchered off with an oxygen mask over his face.
Later, the player took to twitter and assured his fans that he’s okay and soon he will be back.
“Thank you everyone for your messages, words can’t describe how gutted I am, my road to recovery starts now, I will come back stronger,” he tweeted
The player is expected to undergo surgery which will keep him out of the pitch for at least six months
