Once your driving license expires, you are expected to renew it to avoid much trouble with authority.The driving licence in Kenya can be renewed online and the procedure for renewal is as follows.
National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) is mandated with the responsibility of renewing expired licenses.
Renewal of driving license can be done online through the following procedure:
o You can ether renew through banks or Huduma Centers
Or
o Log into the NTSA new portal (www.ntsa.go.ke) and sign up for an e- citizen account.
o During this process you are required to produce a National Identity number and your first name as it appears on the National ID.
o You will then be directed to a new window that displays services offered through the portal, which include: application for provisional driving license, driving test application, application for interim driving license, driving license renewal, driving class endorsement, duplicate driving license and driving license information corrections.
o Then Click on Driving License Renewal. At this stage, one is given a few guidelines plus the cost of renewal.
o Once you are through, click on the apply button. You will be required to fill in the reference number as it appears on the Driving license as well as fill in the renewal period
o choose a mode of payment ;either through M-Pesa or a Debit/credit card
o Once you settle the payment, you’ll be able to receive renewal slip
