Paul Mwangi, popularly known as Salim Junior died on Friday night while undergoing treatment at the Nakuru Memorial Hospital
Family members say the mugithi singer has been in good health until last week when he fell ill and was rushed to Nakuru Memorial Hospital.
He will be remembered as one of the pioneers of Mugithi songs,a genre popular in Mount Kenya region.
Some of the musician’s songs include Hutia Ria Keri,muti uyu and Kigooco Pure.
Salim incorporated some of his family members into his band, who include Mighty Salim and Sarafina Salim.
Several politicians, led by Bahati area Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri, have sent their condolences, describing him as one of the greatest entertainers.
