Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has sacked County Environment Minister Evans Ondieki with immediate effect.

“This is to inform you that Ondieki has ceased to be the County executive in charge of Environment with immediate effect,” read the dismissal letter

Kidero took the step after it emerged that Ondieki was not doing enough to make the city clean.

His position has been taken by Tom Odongo

However, Senator Mike Sonko has a bone to pick with the Governor.

“Tusidanganyane!!! Finally Governor Evans Kidero admits he is surrounded by cartels. He has promised to dismantle cartels in City hall in order to ensure efficient service delivery in Nairobi City County. We are now looking forward to see open advertisements during the recruitment of County Council Askaris. I can’t recall seeing any advert in regard to this exercise ever since I was born. Don’t they recruit new Askaris or what is the procedure?”the Senator posted on his Facebook page

Sonko questioned the criteria the Governor used to appoint Tom Odongo yet the labour laws require the position to be advertised.
