ICC To Terminate Ruto Sang Case:Blow To Bensouda

International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor Fatou Bensouda will be forced to terminate the cases against Ruto and Sang after the court’s Chamber rejected the use of recanted evidence for the two post-election violence suspects.

Bensouda had applied to the Court to allow him use the evidence of witnesses deemed hostile by the court. But the court rejected his request.

The court’s action brings to the end a long court battle between the prosecutor, DP Ruto and former journalist Joshua Sang.

The case is expected to end as soon as March this year when the court will rule a no-case-to-answer bid presented by defense lawyers.
