Football Kenya Federation Chairman Nick Mwenda made the announcement over the weekend, adding that Okumbi, who coached Kenyan premiership side, Mathare United last season, will take interim charge of the Harambee Stars when they play Guinea Bissau away in Bissau next month.
“We have picked our own whom I believe have the capacity to do the job. Personally I love the passing game and believe in our own style’, said Mwendwa
Williamson has been the Harambee Stars Coach since August, 2015.
The team has been struggling under Williamson, failing to qualify for world Cup as well as performing poorly in almost all the tournaments they have participated.
