All is not well at Royal Media Services after three of its top journalists got dismissal letters.
Kendagor Obadiah, Evelyne Wambui, Pheona Kenga and Patrick Injendi will no longer appear on screens after being shown the door yesterday. It seems the storm has just started in a media house that controls more than 70 % of advertisement revenues in the media industry.
Sources within citizen TV say the four journalists were fired following a restructuring process which is expected to shake the entire media house. The station intends to cut costs by almost half, and is expected to fire 20 more journalists and news reporters.
Citizen TV raided KTN a month ago and managed to convince reporters Sam Ogina and Mercy Kandie as well as KTN business editor Michael Karanja to join its team.
As elections approach expect more to come.
