I believe am not the first one to hear the news, but get it from us that CORD leader Raila Odinga is considering supporting Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka in 2017.
Raila, who is seen as the most suitable candidate to challenge President Uhuru Kenyatta, has met Kalonzo three times this year in a secret meeting at his Capitol Hill office.
The first meeting occurred in January this year and weeks later Kalonzo was in the Coast telling Raila and Wetangula to support him.
Our source at Orange house indicate that the former Prime Minister has consulted his local and international advisors and is now willing to allow someone else to contest on CORD ticket.
Though there is a lot of resistance from some Nyanza legislatures, it is believed that Raila has already made up his mind and in the coming weeks, he will start taking a back seat as kalonzo leads the opposition.
His advisors see Kalonzo as the right candidate to challenge President Kenyatta since he doesn’t have many corruption cases on his shoulders. They also believe that Kalonzo is a neutral candidate, someone who could attract votes even in Central Kenya where Raila could not dare.
If indeed the arrangement will work, then Uhuru might vacate office in 2017, forever.
