Tribe With Most Street Children or Chokoraa in Kenya

Street Children in Kenya are rising each day and this is contributed by negligence and lack of clear plan by the Kenyan government. Though many tribes have street children in Nairobi, Mombasa, Eldoret, Kisumu and Kericho,a single tribe dominates.

The Kikuyu tribe contributes 90 % of street children in Kenya, followed by the Luo and Kalenjin tribes. The Kisii and Luhya communities also have significant number of street children in Kisii Town, Busia and Luanda.

The major reason why the Kikuyu have the largest number of street children is because their mothers chose to live without the father of their children. Once they are overwhelmed with responsibilities they give up on parenting.

Some Kikuyu men are also very irresponsible. This is contributed by excessive drinking and fear of responsibilities.
