Kenyatta University Vice Chancellor Professor Olive Mugenda is retiring after serving the institution for more than 8 years. However, what has shocked many Kenyans is her retirement package.
Kenyatta University Council has approved the following as the retirement package to Professor Olive Mwihaki Mugenda;
(i) Ten (10) days holiday to a country of her choice accompanied by a spouse or a friend at Ksh2.5 million
(ii) Rewards, among others a personal car of her choice as memento token of appreciation at Ksh10 million
(iii) Buying the Vice Chancellor a retired home by way of a residential area of her choice worth Ksh20 million
- iv) Monthly salary of Kshs1, 000,000 until death.
- v) Ransom send home package of Kshs100M
