Deputy President William Ruto is the acting President after President Uhuru traveled to Botswana for official state visit.
This has been a long–standing invitation and the President is pleased to be able to honour it at this time. Issues to be discussed during this visit include the Tripartite Free Trade agreement, which the President hopes will be ratified by all involved states soon; trade and economic ties with the southern African country, industry and manufacturing, mining and tourism.
The President left the country today for Botswana and will stay at the country until July 4.Meanwhile, Ruto takes charge as the acting President.
According to the Kenyan constitution, when the President is out of the country, his Deputy becomes the acting President, if the two are not in the country, Parliament Speaker takes charge.
The construction is structured in such a way that there is no power vacuum in the country, otherwise power hungry vultures might take over.
