Isaac Mwaura, ODM nominated Member of Parliament, has unapologetically quit ODM for Jubilee.
The MP joined Jubilee after realizing he won’t win any seat under CORD. The MP claims that the electorate have decided which political direction the young husband should take.
“DEFECTION: I wish to clarify the following; yesterday at a fundraising function for a disabled person in Githurai, Ruiru constituency (and where I will be vying in 2017), the crowd demanded and pressured that I resign from odm and join jubilee upon receiving news that Hon Otuoma had quit as ODM National vice chair. Hon ferdinard Waititu who was present also supported the call saying myself and Hon Ababu Namwamba should do so as well as since we are progressive minds with a great future. There has been many calls by wananchi for me to do so in the recent past. I wish to clarify that I am odm nominated member and will continue to serve Kenyans without fear or favour”,said the MP in a statement.
Mr Mwaura was handpicked by CORD leader Raila Odinga and offered the seat reserved for people with disabilities and special needs-Mwaura is an Albino.
The MP has declared he will contest for Ruiru Constituency seat under Jubilee Party ticket.
Mwaura joins a list of over 100 MPs and politicians who are planning to quit CORD for Jubilee.
